How can I avoid prolonging my job search time?

Take time to research the industry in which you would like to invest most of your time working. Take notes of the type of positions for which you are qualified. Research the salary the position pays within that industry and location. 

Knowing this information will save you time you would spent hearing recruiters and employers tell you that you will have a difficult time landing a certain position or earning a certain salary, because of any given reason. Conducting your research will prevent you from wasting time and will allow you to provide proper responses to similar objections. Once you have gathered all of this information, prepare and brand yourself to contact your target employers.
